There are many colleges and institutes in Delhi offering MBBS and Higher education in medicine field. There are roughly 1,000 seats on offer. There are top medical colleges like AIIMS, Lady Harding Medical college, Maulana Azad medical college, North Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical college, University college of Medical sciences and GTB Hospital, Vardhman Mahavir Medical college and Safdarjung Hospital. 1. AIIMS Delhi
AIIMS Delhi is one of the Top ranked medical college in India. It is an autonmous institution of National Importance.The institute offers MBBS, B Sc Hons Nursing, B Sc Hons in medical technology in Radiography and Bachlor of Optometery. AIIMS also offers MD / MS/ M Ch/ DM and MD Hospital Administration courses.
The institute is a premier institute with tution fee of only Rs 1350. AIIMS offers admissions through entrance test conducted by AIIMS. Admission to other six AIIMS invarious cities is also through this entrance test. Students need to score at least 60% in class 12th. There ae 66 seats in AIIMS New Delhi and 100 each in 6 other AIIMS.
L. Lady Harding Medical College, Delhi
Lady Harding Medical college is constitutent college of Delhi University and offers MBBS course only to female candidates. The admission to MBBS course is done through NEET. There are 130 seats. 85% seats are for Delhi Region students.
3. Maulana Azad Medical College
Maulana Azad Medical College is constitutent college of Delhi University . There are 250 seats and admissions are taken through NEET. 85% seats are reserved for students from Delhi.
4. University College of Medical Sciences and GTB Hospital
UCMS The University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) was established in 1971 as a Constituent College of University of Delhi. It imparts various medical and paramedical courses. Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital is the associated teaching hospital with 1000 beds. UCMS is known for its quality research and has a National ranking of 7th based on the number of publications. The admissions take place through NEET and there are 150 seats in MBBS.
5 Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College
Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India in November, 2001. The first batch of MBBS students was admitted in February, 2002. Post-graduate courses (MD/MS) in clinical subjects were running at Safdarjung Hospital even before the establishment of VMMC. The (MD/MS) course in Pre and Para clinical subjects were started in year 2011. Over the period of time, the numbers of MD/MS seats have been increased. The College also is running super specialization (Mch/DM).
VMMC is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University; New Delhi. There are 150 seats in MBBS. 15% seats are in All India catgeory and 85% seats are for Delhi category.
6. Army college of Medical Sciences
Army college of Medical Sciences Delhi Cantt is a premier medical colleg in India under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society. The college is affiliated to GGS IP university and has a capacity of one hundred under-graduate student admissions per year. ACMS came into existence in 2008 to address the requirement of providing quality under-graduate medical education to wards of serving and retired Indian Army personnel. The admission is offered through NEET examination conducted by CBSE.
Out of the 100 seats 82 seats are reserved for wards / widows of army personnel and there are some all India category seats for SC and ST.
7. North Delhi Municipal Corpopration Medical College and Hindo Rao Hospital
North DMC (Delhi Municipal Corporation) Medical College is one of the total three Medical Colleges being run in India by the Municipal Corporations. The college started in 2013 but ran into trouble due to lack of infrastructure and teaching staff. MCI has given permission in2015 to college to admitt 50 students in MBBS Batch.
The college is affiliated to GGS IP University. The seats are reserved for candidates who have passed class 11th and 12th from Delhi.
Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar medical college and Hospital
Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College, is being established by the Government of NCT of Delhi in the existing 29.4 acre campus, where the 540 bedded Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital is located.The college has started takig admissions from year 2016. There are 100 seats in the college. Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College is affiliated to GGS IP University, Dwarka, New Delhi.
