Toonz Academy is the training division of the award winning animation studio, Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd. The academy was established in the year 2002 and is a fully owned subsidiary of Toonz Entertainment Pte. Ltd., Singapore, the parent company of the Toonz Group. Established in 2003, Toonz academy offers both advanced and short-term career-oriented courses in animation. The Academy has signed MOUs with leading Chinese Universities to set up animation training centers in China and plans to expand its operation to West Africa, Middle East and South East Asia.
Toonz Academy's flagship program 'Advanced Diploma in Digital Arts and Animation' aims to impart proficiency in key areas like Character modeling, Background, Organic Character Texturing, Lighting, Character Rigging, Character Animation and Particle Effects, Dynamics, and Compositing. The duration of this course is 12 months. After completing the 12 months Advanced Diploma from Toonz Academy, the students has the opportunity for 3 months of internship at the world-class Toonz Animation Studio in Technopark. The selection for this internship is based on a test and overall performance during the 12 month period. For professionals who are looking for skill upgradation in 3D, a comprehensive 3D FP course (3D Finishing Program) would add value to their knowledge in Maya. The duration of the course is 6 months. Industry-ready short-term courses include a 3-month certificate course in Digital 2D Animation and a 2-month certificate course in Graphic Designing. These courses have been formulated for students, animation enthusiasts, as well as professionals who wish to sharpen their skills. The eligibility criteria for both the courses are SSC equivalent or above, painting skills and basic computer knowledge.BSc in Animation & Digital Arts is a complete 3d Animation and Visual Effects Programme affiliated to Bharathiar University and has been specifically designed to provide 10+2 students a successful career in visual effects for films and television, and emerging applications for 3D visualization and animation. The comprehensive program covers the fundamentals of animation art, animation design, and visual effects, and subsequent application of these basics to 3D Environment modeling, Props Modeling, Texture Painting, Character Setup, Character animation, Lighting, Compositing, Visual Effects and Production Management. These real-world skills convert the individual into an industry-ready professional prepared to meet the demands & challenges of the Animation Industry. The practical training in Animation provided under this program mirrors the work in professional animation and visual effects houses. This training is delivered in state-of-the-art studio facility with a one-to-one (student-to-machine) ratio, with hands-on knowledge of industry standard animation and visual effects softwares from Adobe, Autodesk, Eyeon, Pixlogic, Imagineer Systems, Apple etc. The Degree Program will include written tests/ Class Project /Showreel development and Live project Internship which will focus on making the students Production Ready.The Students will also be exposed to Live Production Techniques through Toonz Animation Studio ,Trivandrum.
