What do design engineers do?
Design engineers develop new ideas for new products and systems used to make them. They create initial blue prints etc for structures, machines and equipments. Thus many work in the area of not only new products and ideas but also in improving efficiency and effectiveness of existing products. Design engineers use advanced computing technology and CAD software. They also build prototypes and test them. They are also involved in fabrication of actual machinery or models of buildings.
