Tolani Maritime Institute also known as TMI is a maritime college in Induri, Pune, India which was established in 1998. It has about 1,500 students in its campus based and distance learning programmes.

Tolani Maritime Institute is one of the largest maritime educational centers offering MARINE ENGINEERING and NAUTICAL TECHNOLOGY degree programs. TMI graduates are awarded B.S. Marine Engineering and B.S. Nautical Technology degrees by the well established Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, a deemed university widely recognised as one of India's pre-eminent centres for technology education.

 

The Marine Engineering and Nautical Technology degree programs at TMI have been awarded Grade 1 (Outstanding) by CRISIL. It was set up by The Tolani Group, a ship-owning and ship management company, which perceived a need for India to produce increasing numbers of well-educated marine officers.TMI has been assigned as ‘Grade 1’ for its degree courses by Crisil. This is the highest grading obtainable and indicates that the quality of education imparted by the graded courses at TMI with respect to the course objectives as stated by DGS is outstanding.
